Building homes of this standard is no mean feat, especially when considering navigating through complex Building Regulations and British Standards. Bereco have worked with Abbeymill Homes on a number of Secured by Design and Part Q developments and we aim to take the hassle out of this by offering windows and doors that are certified and tested to PAS 24: 2016.

Abbeymill Homes have been client of Bereco’s since 2014. They have specified Bereco windows and doors on numerous projects ranging from individual custom builds to sites with multiple plots and continue to do so safe in the knowledge that each window or door received has been tested and is certified under the banner of SBD.

This particular development is perfectly situated with views of the peaceful and stunning area of Loughton Lodge Lake. The land upon which this beautiful project is set was originally a leisure centre that could only be used by the local residents. This was built sometime in the 80s when there was a need in the local community – generations moved out and the need was no longer. Abbeymill Homes, who take pride in choosing prestige locations for development, purchased the land with the benefit of planning permission within a prime location in Milton Keynes.
The development was sited just off a redway – Milton Keynes is known for their redways (pedestrian and cycle links from estate to estate). Due to the location and how close the development tied in with the links/ lake, Abbeymill homes knew they needed a high-security product that could also offer the beautiful views of the surrounding areas un-obstructed, hence why they specified Bereco. Being the only timber window company to offer all products to a PAS 24: 2016 standard meant that there were no hurdles to overcome when it came to designing these houses.

The aesthetic of these stylish homes is distinctly modern and simple in design. Bereco contemporary lipped casements achieve this design brief whilst offering the required levels of safety and security. Each custom timber window was finished in BS 10B15 – Gardenia and styled with Satin Chrome hardware. A particular key feature is the timber french door and fixed screen combination which opens up the views and creates a spacious, light and airy kitchen/dining space. This screen follows the shape of the building by spanning one sidewall and extending round the corner which really provides a connection with the surrounding nature.
To accentuate the modern finish Abbeymill opted for a front door from our Creative Range which provides a high-end ultra-modern finish. The result is a stylish, modern luxury family home that sits perfectly in the surrounding landscape and provides a unrivalled level of home security.
