Transforming a Quaint Cabin: How Bereco Flush Casements and French Doors Elevated a Home Office Renovation

The cabin’s design features two sets of double Flush French Doors, inviting an abundance of natural light and seamlessly connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces. Additionally, two large Flush Casement Windows, complete with a side hung opener alongside longer fixed sash, provide the perfect mix of practicality and style.

To add warmth and character to the space, Alex opted for Rumbled Brass ironmongery, including Bulb End handles for the windows and Barrington handles for the doors, which paired perfectly with the soft grey tones of the office. The colour palette was equally thoughtful, Farrow & Ball’s No. 284 Worsted for the windows and doors harmonised beautifully with the surrounding landscape and interior panelling. Alex found inspiration from an aged piece of Douglas fir, ensuring the finish blended seamlessly with the cabin’s character. Internally, Telegrey 4 (RAL 7047) was selected for the walls, although Alex was initially hesitant, the choice proved ideal once the space was complete, perfectly complementing the overall design.

Reflecting on the renovation, Alex shared that her Bereco timber windows and doors are one of her favourite elements of the project. Beyond their beautiful appearance, she appreciates their exceptional quality and feel. Their solid construction enhances acoustics and creates an inviting atmosphere of her office, elevating the functionality and aesthetics of her office.
